Guidelines:

  1. Rather then rules, (because they are meant to be broken), we use guidelines. Guidelines aren't followed because you have to, they are followed because they are the wisest way that has been found up to this point. When a wiser way is seen, then the guidelines are adjusted to reflect this.
  2. Be free yet don't intrude on other peoples freedom.
  3. The use of the command: /ignore [user] will keep you from seeing info from that user. Don't ask the channel admin to censor people for you, or, the channel. Censor people for your self. You are in control.
  4. You tend to get out of the channel what you put into it. If you show people respect then you are more then likely going to be respected in return.
  5. Focus on the solutions to the problem you decide to bring up. Most people see a lot of problems and have probably already looked at the one you are bitching about, it's the solutions that are of value.
  6. Make sure the source of your information is accurate. You don't like being lied to, (either on purpose or by accident), do your best not to be a source of misinformation and propaganda.
  7. Destroying something with out having a replacement is unwise. It is stupid to tear down your "house" if you aren't going to build a better one. It is just as unwise to tear down a house that only needed a new wall or roof. Repair it, don't destroy it or have a better way already lined up.
  8. Keep in mind everyone has a dream of what will make the world better. Does your vision include other peoples visions?
  9. Learn to distinguish between an argument and an intense discussion. Ask your self why arguing is unwise.
